This is an authentic Tsugaru introductory shamisen for beginners made of highly hard quince wood.
The leather is made of artificial leather that does not have the same color as real leather, and reproduces the tone and volume. Of course, the sound quality is inferior when compared to real leather (dog skin), but unlike real leather, it does not tear spontaneously, so there is no need to take care of it. (Please listen to the tone in the introductory video.The tone and volume are more than enough for practice.)
The thread winder is made of high-quality genuine ebony (Soroku), so it holds well and allows you to concentrate on playing without stress.
In addition, this Tsugaru Shamisen is equipped with "Kakuto Sawari" and "Rindo hardware" as standard equipment.
By adding Higashi Sawari, it has the effect of increasing the overtones, adding flavor to the tone, and extending the resonance, resulting in the unique sound quality of Tsugaru with the extended "sawari sound" called "bean".
The sawari sound can be adjusted by turning the "Higashi Sawari screw", so it is possible to make a sawari sound at any scale.
So what about the Tsugaru shamisen that doesn't have "Higashi Sawari" on it? That being said, the sawari sound cannot be adjusted, so it is difficult to hear the sawari sound, and you cannot expect the long and powerful tone that is unique to the Tsugaru shamisen.
